The Cortana companion app will basically serve as a bridge for things you start doing on your laptop and wish to continue later. Microsoft’s Cortana digital assistant has been likened to Apple’s Siri in the past, in that you can ask it questions and get it to remind you to do certain things. It also helps encourage users to move over to a Microsoft OneDrive subscription. And this is why Microsoft is looking to help those on Android and iOS (the vast majority of the smartphone market) sync all their files and documents across their devices. This has meant catering heavily to Android and iOS and doubling down on its efforts in the PC sphere - a realm where Windows still rules the roost. The day this feature is available on phones from other companies, Your Phone app stands to become an irreplaceable application. With Microsoft struggling to gain a solid foothold with Windows Phone, even in the wake of its Nokia Devices acquisition, the Seattle-based company has been refocusing its efforts on software. However, as mentioned above, this feature is limited to a handful of Samsung devices. It also allows users to launch and use Android applications installed on your phone within Windows 10. That said, Your Phone application comes natively installed on all Windows 10 devices and is constantly adding new features. Although this app is still in its beta phase, and we couldn’t get it working when we tried it last, it's a rebranded Dell Mobile Connect application. In a related piece of news, LG had come up with its own version of Your Phone app to connect and control LG phones using Windows 10 devices. The new update is a part of the v1.21012.195.0+ update and since it's being rolled out in a phased manner, there's a chance that you might not see this on the Your Phone application right away. However, you were not able to change your phones settings via Your Phone. Until now, Your Phone users were able to see information like cellular connectivity, Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as access your phones images, see and respond to messages and even answer or decline calls. Windows 10 could get a killer feature.
